6 Stores With Cute Tall Sizes You Need to Shop Now

Save this for later!

Finding cute, tall clothing for women has always been one of my life goals.

When you’re over 5′ 9″, finding fashion that fits can literally have you pulling your hair out in frustration. I should know. I was six feet tall by age 14.

Luckily, there are so many more options for fashion for tall women now. Way more than when I was growing up.

But still, I’m often surprised at the number of retailers who don’t carry tall sizes for women, given the rise of tall women in recent years. (See what I did there?)

There are numerous options online these days, which is awesome for convenience. There’s nothing better than shopping from the comfort of your sofa with a glass of wine.

Although, my shopping experiences while drinking wine have not been my best moments. And someday I’ll tell you the tale of how I ordered nine swimsuits from China while I was buzzed on Facebook.

But that’s another story.

While I love shopping online, sometimes I just like to go see the goods in person. Feel the fabric. Try things on.

There are times that things I think will look great end up looking terrible. Vice versa, sometimes things I think will be blah end up as my favorite pieces.

Also, when it comes to sizing, I’m often a tweener, so it’s best when I can actually try two different sizes of the same piece.

Unfortunately, there just aren’t that many brick and mortar stores that actually cute tall clothing for women in the store. However, here’s a list of stores with tall sizes that do have physical locations.

So, if you order something online and it doesn’t work, you can return it locally.

Where to Find Tall Clothing for Women

Athleta – I was introduced to Athleta recently at the gym, where they were selling from a little pop-up shop. I stopped because I was curious and left with a pair of $89 pants.

To me, that’s a lot for pants that will only be used to sweat in. But hey, they were “talls” and they were flattering and cute.

Their stuff is fashionable and also quality. The workout wear holds up really well during high impact workouts, and they have adorable leisurewear. I’m coveting this cozy sweatshirt dress right now.

See? If I tried to wear a version of this that wasn’t tall, it would basically look like I forgot to put on pants before leaving the house.

One thing that I love – if they don’t have tall sizes in the store, they do have an option where you can order online and have it delivered to the store to try on there.

Old Navy – From denim to dresses, Old Navy has a selection of tall sizes designed for 5′ 10″ and up. They are pretty inexpensive and have great sales if you can catch your size before it’s out of stock.

They also carry tall activewear. I have tried theirs and have been very happy with it. In fact, I have one pair of floral pants that get All. The. Compliments. when I go to the gym. It’s like they have their own personality.

Ann Taylor – Cute and classy tops, pants, suits, dresses, jackets and skirts for women 5′ 9″ and taller and sized 0T – 18T. So they cover us curvy girls, too. I’ve had some good luck here. Even when I was pregnant.

Have you ever tried to shop for clothes as a very tall, plus-size person? Eek. It’s brutal. Luckily, I found a few great dresses here to carry me through that life phase.

Maurices – I love me some Maurices, and here’s why: Not only do they have long lengths and plus sizes, but they carry some of them in-store. This means I can run out and shop for a pair of jeans like a normal person.

It’s truly a beautiful thing to walk out of a store with a pair of jeans in hand.

If you shop online, you can filter the sizes by inseam and then search for pants from there. It can be a little hard.

For example, their long inseam on jeans is 32″. They have pants with long inseam: 33.5″ and extra long: 35.5″. It can be a little tiring to search through, but still, some good options.

New York & Company – This has been one of my go-to’s for long pants for years. They carry talls for women 5′ 9″ and over, sizes xs – xxl and 0T – 20T.

Sadly, all the stores around here have closed. But I still shop them online and they have great sales when you catch them. Their pants work well for my body type, too. (Thick.)

Hello, beautiful. I think I found myself some summer pants!

Nordstrom – While I’ve only shopped here a few times, I’m planning to hit it more regularly. As a tall girl, one thing I always dread is jean shopping. But my husband had been harping at me for years to go try jeans here.

I’ve been reluctant. Because, did I mention I hate jeans shopping? But, after seeing these online, I’m thinking I may have a winner here.

Anything called “Instasculpt” is worth a shot in my book!

Those are some of my best bets for Tall Sizes. I’m getting ready to up my fashion game, though. So if you are a fellow Tall Girl with some suggestions, hit me up!

Eddie Bauer, JCPenney, Gap, Banana Republic and JCrew also have Tall sizes. I’m almost 6’1” and it’s been a challenge over the years but it’s gotten easier. I find shoe selection a bigger challenge as a Size 12 but I like Nordstrom Rack and 6pm.com for shoes.

Thanks for those suggestions! I have tried Norstrom Rack for shoes but not 6pm.com so I will try that! 🙂

Check out Talltique, I bought a pair of wonderful skinny( not super skinny, but form fitting) before Xmas and they’re now my favorites. The proprietor Helen is 6’4” same as me, and honey, these jean fit everywhere! I have a problem with the extra inch I need in the rise, but these are higher waisted and very comfortable. Long Tall Sally has nice stuff, pricier though, I also have found Gap jeans are a great fit for me even some from Old Navy ( my exercise gear) and even Asos, which is a bit too young for me, but fits my daughters well. Alloy has some nice jeans especially for you younger women.
    Hope this help.

Great List! Love so many of these! As a tall woman, 6’1″, I love the clothes at Amalli Talli (https://amallitalli.com/). They have everything from dresses, tops, shorts, pants, and a denim line with inseams in 35″ and 37″. Also, I love their jean jacket! It is the best jean jacket EVER with plenty of sleeve length!! Check them out!!

Oh yay! I’m always looking for tips on where to find tall clothes. Got a great pair of jeans from old navy for Christmas. I’m thrilled! We all know how hard that can be. It’s my size 12 feet that are my biggest challenge. Will try that 6pm.com right now. Thanks to all of you!

In my book Express, Gap, and American Eagle, and Long Tall Sally have the best jeans and pants. I love American Eagle leggings because they actually carry them in tall lengths!

American Tall is amazing and super comfy. I’m 5’11 145lbs and 36″inseam. NEVER have luck at Nordstrom except for Frame brand jeans come really long but are super expensive. And not comfortable. In my opinion.
